Becoming a Foster Carer is about caring for a child or young person in your own home, and giving them the opportunities needed for a positive future.

Do you have?

  • Time, energy and enthusiasm for children and young people?
  • At least one spare bedroom?
  • A flexible and adaptable approach?
  • A positive outlook, with the ability to keep your patience under pressure?
  • Good support networks?
  • Respect for individuality?
  • Willingness to learn and to attend regular training sessions and support group meetings? 
  • Any experience of children and/or young people?

Are You?

  • In good general health, with a  healthy lifestyle?
  • Available to care for a child or young person before and after school?
  • Available o be there during the school holidays or when the child or young person is off school through illness?
