History

Baljinder Haer, an experienced social worker and manager, who has worked directly with local authorities for over 16 years, established SWAN Fostering in 2003.

When Baljinder created SWAN Fostering, she envisaged an agency that would provide the best possible outcomes for children and  young people in foster care, recognising their cultural, linguistic, health and wellbeing needs. 

Baljinder wanted to provide a unique service to foster carers that would support them throughout their fostering journey. Because of this vision, SWAN Fostering has in place an award winning tailor-made training and development programme for all foster carers and staff.

While SWAN Fostering has grown in size over the past six years, our values and aims remain the same. At SWAN Fostering, we havecontinued to develop our services and approach over the years through listening to the feedback from foster carers, the children and young people we place, and local authorities.

At SWAN Fostering, we pride ourselves on the personal, supportive and pro-active approach we have, and the positive feedback we receive from our foster carers, their families, and the children we place.
