We are looking for people who can make a difference to a young person’s life by giving them positive opportunities as well as ensuring their cultural, linguistics and religious needs are met.  If you have fostered before, worked with children or young people or if you feel you have the qualities needed, we would be very interested to hear from you.

With Swan Fostering, you would be working with a totally professional team committed to ensuring that disadvantaged children have the best care possible.  The team ensures that each of their foster carers have the right level of support at the right time. 

What is expected of you?

All prospective foster carers will be subject to an initial home visit by Swan Fostering staff; all your questions and queries will be answered.  If you are still interested an application form will need to be completed, giving detailed information about you and your family and consent for Swan Fostering to complete necessary checks and enquiries.  You will be invited to Initial Training to help you decide further and to get more information.  An Assessment will then take place for a period of 3 – 6 months. Approval is made by Panel Members once the Assessment report is ready and been shared with the applicant.  Once Approval is complete all foster carers will be given constant training, support and reviews.

What will you get?

As well as the satisfaction of knowing you have made a positive difference to a child’s life during the time they are placed with you, Swan Fostering offers you:

  • On-going training
  • High payments for fostering
  • 24 hour support and advice; 7 days a week, 365 days a year
  • Each carer will have a qualified Supervising Social Worker assigned to them
  • Regular phone calls, visits and supervision
  • Foster Carer support groups and social events for all the family
  • Paid respite for four weeks per year
  • An opportunity to grow within the Agency and with the Agency.
